"It's a common story - I didn't feel like I belonged anywhere until I found my way into theatre. We're here because we feel like we belong and that is magic, and I think we can give that feeling to our audiences"

Drew Humphrey

After growing up in Tucson and performing here as a child, Drew graduated from the University of Arizona with a BFA in Dance. He then spent the next 20 years in New York City directing, choreographing, performing, and educating. He has worked on Broadway, National Tours, Off-Broadway, regionally, and at concert venues all across the country.  Involved with everything from developing brand new works to large budgeted commercial projects he is now thrilled to bring his expertise back to the desert to contribute to the vibrant artistic community that first inspired him toward theatre arts in the first place. Favorite highlights of his career include: Original Broadway cast of Irving Berlin's White Christmas (Cast Recording), sharing the stage with Tommy Tune in Encore's Lady Be Good (Cast Recording), performing on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and directing and choreographing productions of Disney's Mary Poppins, A Chorus Line, Singin' in the Rain, Oklahoma, and Gypsy. Drew’s educational experience includes guest teaching, master classes, and guest directing and choreographing at high schools and universities. He is also a regular contributor for Variety: The Children's Charity of St. Louis, where he helped create and continues to direct an inclusive summer theatre camp for children of all abilities. Of all pursuits, bringing inclusive arts educational opportunities to the community is a central focus for Drew and Saguaro City Music Theatre.
